Ruperts Diary
by Marilyn Saunders
The life and adventures of a cat and his human.
Rupert, a Norwegian Forest cat – or so he believes – lives in the city with his ugly furless human and his fluffy but dim cat sister, Meg. All he wants is a peaceful life: to snooze on his favourite shed, to be fed daily – at least twice – and to receive his human’s love and attention. Is it too much to ask, for a cat of his standing? Instead, Rupert’s days are filled with trials and tribulations; especially when he has to deal with other humans, his middle-of-the-street cat neighbours, and great snouted barking mad animals!

The Death Certificate by Stephen Molyneux
The Death Certificate - A genealogy meets metal-detecting mystery. When Peter Sefton gets the opportunity to metal-detect on a remote hidden farm, little does he know that one of his finds will lead him to search for the identity of its former owner. What he discovers is shocking and tragic. He starts to feel a connection for their paths had crossed – literally – albeit with a gap of about 150 years, but crossed they had. Combining his interest in genealogy and metal-detecting, Peter forms a theory about a link between a scandal in the antiquities world of Victorian London and what may have occurred on the farm.

The Buzzer
by David Mason
A Russian radio station has been broadcasting and letting out a buzz every other second since the 1970s. Every few months, the buzzing is suddenly interrupted by a voice saying a series of numbers and code words. Then the buzzing starts up again. A number of theorists suggest that it's a secret military communication method, or that it may even be a countermeasure for nuclear war. Natalya Kovalski, a journalist, and Stepan Litvin, a short-wave radio enthusiast and computer programmer, visit an abandoned military base together in Povarovo which is suspected to have once been the source of the transmissions. But what they find may have chilling consequences...
